Welcome to Glasgow

Strath Union and The University of Strathclyde call the city of Glasgow home and for those of you who are arriving in Glasgow for the very first time, welcome!

Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, with a special mix of history, culture, entertainment and education. It has great scran (food), top patter (conversation) and plenty of activities to keep you occupied - when you're not studying of course...

All of the buildings on campus, including Strath Union and Halls, are located between Cathedral and George Street so you're right in the heart of Glasgow. Pop into the Union to say hi if you're in the area before September!

Join StrathMates

StrathMates is a new buddy programme run by Strath Union to help you settle into University and the city!

We will match you with your buddy group using the interests you select in our match form. This will help you meet like-minded people and have a group of new students to spend time with alongside your StrathMates.

There's no universal ticket option for transport but most providers offer some form of discount for students. Remember everyone between 5-21 years old living in Scotland for more than 6 months of the year can travel for free by bus with a valid National Entitlement Card or Young Scot National Entitlement Card.

Find your way
