Stock Room Volunteer

As a Stock Room Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our stock room is organised, well-maintained, and fully operational.

As a Stock Room Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our stock room is organised, well-maintained, and fully operational. Your efforts will help us provide high-quality, affordable items to families and support our mission of sustainability and community support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sorting and Organising: Sort donations including clothing, toys, and other children's items. Ensure items are categorised, labelled, and stored appropriately. 
  • Quality Control: Check the condition of donated items, ensuring they are clean, safe, and suitable for resale or reuse. 
  • Inventory Management: Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of stock, updating records as items are received or dispatched. 
  • Stock Rotation: Ensure older stock is prioritised and displayed to maintain a fresh and appealing selection for customers. 
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines. 
  • Assisting with Deliveries: Help with the receipt and unpacking of new stock, ensuring items are processed efficiently. 

Skills and Experience

  • Organisational Skills: Previous experience in a similar role with ability to sort, categorise, and manage stock effectively. 
  • Independent Working: Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision. 
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for quality and condition of items. 
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move boxes and items as required. 
  • Team Player: Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff members. 
  • Commitment to Sustainability: Interest in environmental sustainability and community support.
