Join us for a day of fun outdoor activity to help The Conservation Volunteers with a green community project in Ruchazie Community Space!
Our work will be part of a bigger project turning a sizable area of vacant and derelict land into a number of green community assets such as allotments and woodland learning areas. Tasks range from litterpicking and fly tipping removal to hands-on building of raised wildlife beds and homes for nature. Depending on attendance volunteers may get to even build a bee bank for the site!
Pick-up for the event will be at 9:45am in Glasgow City Centre near Strathclyde campus. For any students using public transport to join the event ticket prices will be reimbursed. You can also make your own way to to the location but please be in touch with rinna.vare@strath.ac.uk to find a common meeting point. More specific information about meeting points and transport will be shared with ticket holders closer to the time.
Please prepare by wearing suitable clothing for outdoors, sturdy shoes, preferably boots, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Tools and work gloves will be provided. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided at lulnch time but please bring water and a packed lunch with you.
There are toilet facilities at Ruchazie pantry or TCV office across the road, as are local shops if you need anything during the day.
