About me

Hi all, I'm Jamie and I am your Vice President of Community! In this role I will be representing all your society, volunteering and sustainability needs. I am looking forward to being your voice and hope to make the Strathclyde Community better than ever!

During my 4 years at Strathclyde, I was a member of a large number of societies. I moved on to joining a few committees as well as the Societies Executive Committee, so I know the amazing things our societies and volunteers do and can't wait to support them to do so!

My role is to foster a welcoming and sustainable community and I hope that we can work together to do so! Please reach out to me with anything you wish to chat about!

My manifesto

  1. More Funding

    • To increase the Arts and Culture budget to help societies gain longer term funding
  2. A Greener Campus

    • Committing the University and Union to 100% recycling
    • Continue the work on the Ethical Investment Policy and to encourage more sustainability on campus
  3. A Union for You

    • Make Re:Freshers better and bigger than ever!
    • Also to make more events hybrid or online and accessible to the entire Strathclyde community. This includes creating more events aimed at commuting students
  4. More for Volunteers

    • Continuing the successful volunteering discount!
    • I would also like to create more ways to showcase the work volunteers do
    • To provide training opportunities and to improve on the resources that societies already have, such as organising the societies cupboard and making it safer
