Commitments for this Academic Year

  • To continue maintenance work on the Rottenrow Community Garden.
  • To campaign for the University of Strathclyde to divest from fossil fuels and commit towards ethical investments - Divest the Strathy.
  • To campaign for a Strathclyde Climate Assembly and wider democracy, student and staff representation on key University climate-related decisions.

Rottenrow Community Garden

The Rottenrow Community Garden has been a key aspect of SCEAG's work since we were founded. Every 2nd Sunday, we meet to maintain the garden through de-weeding, seasonal planting and general upkeep activities. The outcome of our efforts isn’t as important as the sense of community and collaboration that comes from working on the garden. As the Rottenrow Community Garden is due to be redeveloped soon, our aim this academic year is to show our continued commitment towards the garden into the future.

Divest the Strathy - University of Strathclyde Fossil Fuel Divestment

This year, we are focusing our efforts to encourage Strathclyde University to divest fully from fossil fuels and commit towards ethical investments instead.

Strathclyde Climate Assembly

The SCEAG are calling for a regular Climate Assembly to be held at Strathclyde which brings together staff and students at the university to make informed decisions on climate matters which affect them. We wish for these assemblies to be integrated within the Strath Union and Strathclyde University structure such that the validity of any outcomes may be recognised and implemented, and justify any alternative actions taken by students or staff to achieve this otherwise.

If you wish to be involved with any of these campaigns please join our group, and contact us on Instagram or at ceag.strath@gmail.com.
