Glasgow East Women's Aid are a local charity working towards the eradication of all forms of abuse towards women, children and young people and the structures that perpetuate them. They provide initial intervention & give information on services, legal rights, housing issues, benefit advice and on issues of concern for women, children and young people, as well offering counselling, refuge and support groups.
You could volunteer with them to support their services. To enable you to do this effectively, they offer a comprehensive 12-week course, free of charge, which ensures that all women participating are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to progress to providing support to women on a crisis cover basis.
They also offer placements for students on courses related to social work.
