Amina MWRC is an award-winning Muslim and BME women’s organisation that works across Scotland to address the key issues and needs of our communities.
We provide a large range of tailored support services, from our Digital Inclusion programme, to engaging campaigns on topics like colourism and Islamophobia, through to our national Helpline.
The Helpline (0808 801 0301) is Amina’s flagship project: open from 10AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday, the Helpline supports thousands of women every year with issues like isolation, domestic abuse, divorce, mental health, and family relationships. The Helpline and accompanying web-chat service offers a culture and faith sensitive listening ear and signposting service for Muslim and BME women over 16 anywhere in Scotland. The line is free to call and completely confidential.
Volunteer With Us
Amina is currently looking for volunteers to join the Helpline team as call handlers, web-chat operators and as telephone befrienders who connect with more socially isolated women once a week.
If you would like to give back to your community, learn new skills and make friends while doing so, volunteering with Amina is a great place to start! We offer in-depth training and lots of ongoing support and learning for our team.
