All society events need to be set up via our event and ticketing partner Native.

Native Training

This training should be watched by all committee members to know how to use Native. Native is the platform we will now be using for selling tickets and uploading events for Strathclyde students and societies.

If you do not have access to Native, let strathunion.societies@strath.ac.uk know. Email them with your name and email address and they will be able to set up a Native account for you.

Key points to note:

  • A 2.5% booking fee will be added to all events. The minimum booking fee is 30p, so for all tickets priced £12 or below there will be a 30p charge. For tickets priced above £12, the booking fee will be 2.5% of the ticket price. When creating your event, please select 'pass on' for the booking fee.

    • For example, if a ticket costs £12, the buyer will pay £12.30 – with £12 going to the society and 30p to Native.

    • For an event where tickets are £50, the buyer would pay £51.25 – with £50 going to the society and £1.25 to Native

  • When adding tickets, type 2110 into the nominal code section and your 3 digit society code into department code. If you do not know this code, email strathunion.societies@strath.ac.uk.
  • Making your event on Native will automatically pull through to the Events section of the Union website. If this does not happpen, contact strath union.societies@strath.ac.uk.
  • You must state in the event description if you do not want to offer refunds for your event. Should you want to offer refunds, Student Engagement staff can process this upon request.
  • Any event set up solely for ticket sales/merch/sign ups available over a period of time must only be listed on the date the sales/sign ups finish. Regular sessions such as weekly meetings or monthly sessions can only be set up for each individual date they are running. You can duplicate events on Native or set them up to repeat weekly/fortnightly/monthly etc.
