Nightlife: Venues in Glasgow

As Students night life is quite a big deal! So, here are some clubs, bars and venues around Glasgow and of course some fast-food places to satisfy your munchies after a long night out! Keep an eye out for student dedicated days, which include grand deals and discounts, and for flyers as well!
 

The Venue

The home of live music and events in the Union. This versatile space is suitable for everything from gigs, ceilidhs or dinners, to dance and yoga classes! King Tut’s

(272A St Vincent St, Glasgow G2 5RL) – A Glasgow Icon.  King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut has hosted pretty much every band you’ve ever loved.  Seriously… walk up the stairs to the venue and you’ll see all the notable acts from throughout the years.  Oasis were famously signed here and it’s been going strong ever since.  A hotbed for new music.
 

The Barrowlands

(244 Gallowgate, Glasgow G4 0TT)  – Everything about The Barrowland Ballroom (or Barras for short) is iconic.  From the light up sign outside, to the rather unique looking location, to the inside layout.  It’s a truly magical place!  There is something about a spring loaded floor and 2,000 sweaty Glaswegian gig goers that is truly special.  Check the listings and head along.


 

Royal Concert Hall

(2 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3NY) – This is the one for all your classical music needs.  Symphony orchestras, opera singers and everything in between.  A really amazing space!  Maybe not quite as interesting looking as the Armadillo but it has an amazing programme of events.
 

The Stand Comedy Club

(333 Woodlands Rd, Glasgow G3 6NG) – If comedy is your thing then this is definitely the place to go.  A hub for up and coming comedians and often legends drop by to try out new material.


 

SWG3

100 Eastvale Pl, Glasgow G3 8QG) – This multi-disciplinary arts venue hosts a multitude of different types of events. These range from outdoor live shows to high profile club nights; you’ll never be short of options here. This one is further out of the city but well connected by train and the subway.
 

Cosmopol

(165 Hope St, Glasgow G2 2UQ) – Do you have a Karaoke song ready to go and looking for a place to showcase your talents? Well look no further Cosmopol has you covered. Open 7 nights a week with free entry to sing your heart out to the best tunes all night long.


 

The Record Factory

(17 Byres Rd, Partick, Glasgow G11 5RD) – This West End Dive Bar is the best late night hangout spot this side of the city. Taking inspiration from the underground bars in New York The Record Factory can satisfy all your rock n’ roll needs. So what are you waiting for ROCK ON GLASGOW!
 

The OVO Hydro

(Exhibition Way, Stobcross Rd, Glasgow G3 8YW) – One of the biggest venues in Glasgow hosting national and international music stars, entertainers and sporting events. Attracting over 1 million visitors each year it is not a venue to forget!
