Rebecca Wilkieson

History with English 4th year student

My name is Rebecca Wilkieson, and I am currently finishing my fourth year at Strathclyde studying History with English. I was a student rep for four of my classes this year, these being  V1709: The Rise, Fall, And Enduring Impact Of Atlantic Piracy, 1660-1730 I and  V1710: The Rise, Fall, And Enduring Impact Of Atlantic Piracy, 1660-1730 II, as well as a representative for the fourth year History course and my English course QQ414: Literature, Mind And Brain.

I decided to volunteer as I wanted to be able to help students voice any concerns that they might have had in regards to returning to in-person learning, as learning has changed a lot in the last two years. Especially as this is many people's final year of education, I felt that it was important to have a clear understanding of how our learning would be impacted by things such as isolation and limited access to resources.

My experience as a volunteer was overall very positive; the lectures that I worked with were always very open and willing to give and hear feedback on the class.
