MSc Software Develpoment 2021/2022

When I moved to Portugal from Nepal in 2010, I struggled to learn the Portuguese language. There were dozens of Portuguese Language learning Institutions, but the fee was not affordable for me. I noticed thousands of Nepalese people were facing the same problem. However, I managed to learn it through books and some online materials. I often enjoyed helping people as a Nepalese to Portuguese translator for their official work.

I moved to Scotland in 2020 and decided to help the community people to learn Portuguese and thus started a free zoom learning program. The first volunteer class on the 1st of October 2021 was very motivating as 15 students were there to learn. Since then, I have been continuously teaching the Portuguese language via zoom to the people in Portugal.

I joined MSC. Software Development at the University of Strathclyde and immediately enjoyed volunteering as a program rep. Furthermore, I got an excellent opportunity to serve the university as an Unibuddy Ambassador. After the first semester, I started an online volunteer zoom class on programming for beginners. The main objective is to motivate individuals to start a career in Software Development World.

I feel very proud to support more than sixty individuals in learning the Portuguese language and ten individuals happy to start their careers in Software Development. The feedback from the people is the best asset I have ever had in my life, which motivates me a lot to volunteer.
