What examples of content are you looking for in my application?

Whilst examples of content for third parties will be advantageous, we will be happy to look at any work that shows you can produce exciting and fun content to a high standard that will be relevant to Strathclyde students.  This should be a link to a public social media page, or a WeTransfer link containing relevant podcasts, videos or portfolios.

Please provide an example of a typical job?

It is a Wednesday evening, and we are looking for a photographer to cover the karaoke in The Terrace.  Ahead of the job you will agree a brief, outline expectations with the Union comms team and sign an agreement containing a list of minimum expectations and deadline for submission.  A job like this would typically be paid out for 4 hours, 2 of which covering the event, and another 2 to edit and submit.

How long will I be contracted?

We will initially give out a contract of a minimum of 20 hours from the start of term 1 until Christmas.  We anticipate those delivering consistent work meeting our standards to earn beyond 20 hours work and have contracts extended into next year.  As this project grows, we are hopeful of being able to expand our numbers over the academic year.

When will I be working?

Most jobs will be during term time only, with a number also being at evenings and weekends so please keep this in mind when considering applying.

Will you cover expenses?

Where expenses are required and have been agreed in advance of the job

I want to get involved but don’t have the necessary experience

We strongly encourage everyone interested in this role to get involved with one of our amazing media societies to make friends, work on fun projects and improve on their skills.  We are aiming to continue to grow our pool so there will be opportunities throughout the 22/23 academic year for those with the desire, skills, and talents to get involved!

How do I get paid?

You will be paid monthly for the number of hours you have worked.
