Interviews are scheduled to take place on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd September with training taking place in week commencing the 6th of September.

Job Duration

Your start date is 13 September. This is a term-time role, with a minimum duration of 24 weeks.

Strath Union is looking to recruit twenty friendly, hardworking and self-motivated individuals to fill student staff roles as Student Engagement Support. In this role you will work closely with the Strath Union Exec and staff team to provide administrative and portfolio based support to help students get involved in the life of the Union. The successful applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be problem solvers and have competency using a variety of IT packages. They will enjoy working with people, as part of a team and under their own initiative.

Role Description

The duties will adapt and change to suit the needs of the Union throughout the term of employment and you will work with staff across the organisation as well as sabbatical officers and volunteers.

Role Summary:

  • Ensuring that a high level of customer care is provided and general administrative duties are carried out 
  • Answering general enquiries and guiding students to services within the Union and University via Strath Union’s welcome desk, live chat and other communication channels
  • Updating information in our data management system
  • Assisting with our student welcome and engagement activities, both online and in person
  • Supporting the delivery of events and/or campaigns as directed by staff and student officers

Skills and experience:

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confident, enthusiastic and naturally helpful
  • Skilled at evaluating options and generating solutions
  • A reliable and committed team member
  • A people person with experience in a customer focussed environment

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a customer service role
  • Knowledge of Strath Union including Student Engagement activities
