Job Duration

You must be available for training on 30 August (paid). Your start date is 6 September. This is a term-time role, with a minimum duration of one academic year.

We are looking for eco-conscious people to work in the brand new Zero Waste Store in the Union! The Zero Waste store is a new project, aiming to provide the Strathclyde community with a more sustainable option to shop, as well as create meaningful job opportunities for students.

Job description: 

To maintain a high standard of customer service, being prompt, helpful, polite and knowledgeable on environmental issues 

To maintain the appearance of the shop to a high and consistent standard 

Preparing veg & fruit box orders for collection 

To adhere to high food safety and cleanliness standards while refilling or handling food refills 

To maintain the products on display – stock replenishment, refilling dispensers and other containers promptly so as to appear attractive, inviting and cared for to customers 

Processing card payments accurately 

Familiarising yourself with product lines throughout the store, advising customers 

Assisting in stock-take as well as offloading deliveries as required

Creating fun signage and product labels, taking on other creative projects to promote Zero Waste shopping and a sustainable lifestyle 

Opening and closing the store 

Reporting to store managers on customer satisfaction and feedback
