About us

The Diplomacy and International Security Society provides students with opportunities to explore global issues related to diplomacy, international relations, and security while building friendships and professional connections. The society’s activities typically include:

  1. Social Events: Hosting relaxed socials, such as coffee meetups, pub nights, or cultural-themed events, to help students make new friends and connect with others.

  2. Guest Speaker Events: Organising talks or Q&A sessions with ambassadors, diplomats, and experts in international security, offering unique insights into real-world diplomacy and career advice.

  3. Skill-Building Workshops: Conducting sessions on negotiation, public speaking, crisis management, or debating to enhance students' skills in international relations and leadership.

  4. Collaborative Opportunities: Partnering with other societies or academic departments for larger events, such as international festivals, cultural showcases, or joint speaker panels.

  5. Student-Led Discussions: Providing a platform for students to present and discuss research, articles, or pressing global issues in an informal and supportive setting.
