Mend in Public

Join us for a day of stitching, storytelling, and connection. Be part of a global movement that values sustainability and creativity.

What's occurring?

✂️ What to Expect:

Hands-On Mending: Bring your torn or worn-out items and learn how to give them a second life through the art of mending.

Expert Guidance: Meet Barbra from Finnieston Alterations, a highly skilled tailor with over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry. Barbra has worked with renowned names such as Alexander McQueen, Ralph Lauren, British GQ, Hugo Boss, and more. She has also provided on-site tailoring and assistance to touring artists like Shania Twain, 50 Cent, and Rod Stewart. Most recently, she worked with Dior’s atelier team on their Cruise 2025 collection at Drummond Castle.

Refreshments Provided: Enjoy light refreshments while you work. Don’t forget to bring your reusable cup!

Don't Have Anything to Mend? No worries! We have plenty of garments on hand that could use your help.

Feel free to drop in at any time during the event. Stay as long as you like—whether it’s for a quick mend or an all-day session, we’re happy to have you.

👗Why Mending Matters:

Mending is more than just stitching—it's a statement. It’s about valuing what we already have, reducing waste, and expressing creativity.

By participating, you'll join a global collective taking action against the cycle of excess through repair and reuse. All skill levels are welcome, so whether you're a seasoned stitcher or a curious beginner, we invite you to become a Fashion Revolutionary!
