Representing Engineering by connecting PGRs with the Union

Hi, I am Zoe, a second-year PhD student in the Department of Process and Chemical Engineering. My research is focused on developing better models for molecular simulations. In my first year, I joined the senior committee of the Doctoral Research Group (DRG) and have had the opportunity to work as part of the organising committee for the DSMS approaching in November. Through this, I have had the opportunity to represent the PGR voice within several committees. I am also involved with the PGR Wellbeing Society, with our first ball successfully held at the beginning of March. During my undergrad, I was even elected as Women's rep.

From this experience, I learned that each of these organisations works to represent PGR students but does not interact with one another. I look to act as a connection between the groups, representing the voice of the PGR Engineering students at the student union and introducing policies that will encourage this relationship.
